Greene and Greene Hall Table with Inlaid tiles
This Greene and Greene Hall Table was custom built for a customer here in Western North Carolina. Having fallen in love with hand made tiles made by a woman named Suzanne Crane, who created these tiles in the Arts and Craft style, they commissioned me to design and build this Greene and Greene table to compliment her work.
It is made out of Sapele with a Dye stain and a lacquer finish that is hand rubbed .This piece can be ordered to a size to suit your need with or without the tiles inlayed in the top.
As a furniture maker this is a great that has had the chance to do some great pieces of furniture with my customers this was one of the best as far as a great challenge and and a beautiful looking piece in the end.

Greene and Greene Corner Cabinet

This Greene and Greene style corner cabinet  above took many hours and was built out of Sapele and Ebony. This piece was Custom made for A client of mine here in Western North Carolina and was designed by Robert Griffin ,here in Asheville and I. The counter top is made of labradorite granite with a solid wood edge so the granite is in the inside of the doors. All of the pulls and handle were designed by me and all have Ebony inlay.

Greene and Greene was an architectural  firm established by brothers Charles Sumner Greene (1868–1957) and Henry Mather Greene (1870–1954), influential early 20th Century American architects. Active primarily in California  their houses and larger-scale ultimate bungalows  are prime exemplars of the arts and craft movement.

Hello Everyone! Hope you are doing well. I have been spending some time trying to catch people up with some of the pieces that I have been building over the last year or so.
This piece is my Greene and Greene style coffee table that I designed originally in 2007 and have built a few over the past year or so. This one was custom built for a couple in San Francisco California area and is built with Walnut and Birds Eye Maple .My customer wanted a drawer that went threw and made both sides the front by having a handle on both sides. Also we worked together with what he was looking for in a handle for this piece and now this will be the handle that I offer Greene and Greene Coffee Table all of the time. The Birds Eye Maple was outstanding and I got the Walnut from a local sawyer 1 mile from my shop!! There is a few places like that around here that  I have found in the last year or so. And last but not least this piece was finished with a hand rubbed oil finish that has about 5 coats building up a great finish that is smooth....! I then built a custom crate and shipped it across the country for a surprise Christmas present for my clients wife.

I am going to start out with that fact that i will be updating some of my pieces that I have been building since I move to Black Mountain,North Carolina exactly 2 years from today. Things have been crazy the last few years and I have been busy trying to keep up. As the business was growing quicker that I could move. Now that I am starting to get a hold of things I am working on this blog and do a  more personal touch with the business to give everyone and idea what it is like to try to balance life as a furniture maker.
This piece is one of the best pieces I have built since relocating to North Carolina. It is my White Purple Heart Hutch that is a Brian Brace original design. Custom made for a local customer and was based on my original Purple Heart Hutch but, this one is closed in on the bottom and is built out of Cherry,Birds Eye Maple and Purple Heart.  This piece has right above the two bottom doors a pull out shelf to extend the top for more counter top space and all of the handles are hand made also .
Thanks so much for looking and keep in touch.
